Old Man is Snoring

Well, I'm sitting here, waiting for a little time to pass, I've got a clinic I'm supposed to go to this morning. You know, giving "high risk" people flu shots...or rather, collecting their money while others give the shots.

It's been raining again this morning, the cool weather has finally moved in permanently .

depressing, cleansing, life-giving, freezing, chaotic, general, refreshing, slick (when mixed with oil). Sometimes I feel like I can take on the world when it rains, because if I do something embarrassing then the rain clouds out some of the cameras that are focused on me.

Ache Bee Honey Bunny

Twenty four oceans
Twenty four skies
Twenty four failures
Twenty four tries
Twenty four finds me
In twenty-fourth place
Twenty four drop outs
At the end of the day
Life is not what I thought it was
Twenty four hours ago

Twenty four reasons to admit that I'm wrong
With all my excuses still twenty four strong

See I'm not copping out
When You're raising the dead in me
Oh, I am the second man now
(song:24 artist:switchfoot)

Stats

I love stats. Over the last 28 years of my life, I have tried to keep a small list of questions that I would like to ask God. I'm sure there are several questions that I will never remember by the time I die and some that I will no longer care to ask. It's funny how I picture it happening, I figure that I won't really be asking God these questions, but someone of some importance, like the Secretary of Stats. But, I probably wouldn't ask that person either, I would probably ask one of the hundreds of workers in the building. The setting would be rather stereotypical...you know, everything is white and there is a thin layer fog drifting on the floor. I would walk up to a guy in a white suit, sitting behind a white desk and he would have a thick white book sitting on the desk. I would walk up to him (or her) and ask my question.

How many hours did I sit looking at the computer screen?
How many hours did I listen to music?
How many of those hours did I listen to Bjork?
How many riffs are similar to the opening strings of "nothing else matters?"
How many times did I almost run into ex-girlfriends?
How many career opportunities did I miss because I was just lazy?
And a billion other worthless questions...

He would then flip to a page somewhere in the middle of the book, and give me the answers...maybe even show me some charts.

Somehow though, I don't think Heaven keeps stats.

Past the Locust

A picture for you to see...oil pastels and photoshop.

Top 600

So how dorky is it for me to be creating my top 600 songs list? I would say very. But, I do have my reasons for making it, and surprisingly I have found out some interesting stuff.

1. I currently have 850 songs in my Winamp playlist and simply cannot cut anymore. In another words, there are 850 songs that I think lack major flaws.
2. I've realized I really like the piano.
3. I've realized I like alot of Top-40-type pop songs
4. I've started to realize why I like certain artists as much as I do.
5. Since this is a work in progress, things are sure to change...but currently this is my top 10:

1. Black - Pearl Jam
2. All You Need Is Love - The Beatles
3. God Only Knows - The Beach Boys
4. Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead
5. Strawberry Fields Forever - The Beatles
6. Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
7. One - U2
8. #41 - The Dave Matthews Band
9. Light My Fire - The Doors
10. November Rain - Guns N' Roses

6. These are my favorite 10 songs (this list is extremely subjective). The latest observation is how well the songs sound together. I've never heard such a diverse group of songs actually sound good when grouped like this. Who knew that a Beach Boys song would sound so wonderful after a PJ and Beatles song? I guess I can say that a great song will always sound good with another great song regardless of age, style, and quality.

The Star

I haven't been much of a Cowboys fan this year, they are starting to put teams together like the Yanks. The most popular people playing in Dallas this year are guys that have had long careers elsewhere, it seems like the Cowboys are a group of All-Star has beens. I don't have anything against these guys, it's just that I would rather lose for a few seasons with guys that are up and coming...instead we are losing with guys that might not be starters by the end of this season. Anyways, with that said, I will read about the drubbing that the Eagles are going to give us on Tuesday morning and see a pic of the latest Owens shenanigan.

Here's to the way things should be!!!

Something Witty

Pigeons and crumbs and all the songs I've deleted on my way to 900.
